2022 has been a great year for Irish solar. Projects started to gain grid connections and the country is set to see over 400 MW of projects which won the first auction (RESS 1) completed in 2023 with more to come from the second auction (RESS 2) in 2024. Almost 5 GW of projects have planning permission which should make the national target of 5.5 GW by 2030 very achievable and the expectation is that a third auction will take place in 2023.
