Benita Dreesen

Benita Dreesen leads European coverage for the OPIS Global Solar Markets report, focusing on solar price assessments, market analysis and the impact of EU energy and industrial policy on the solar sector.

She brings more than 25 years of international experience covering energy, sustainability and regulatory developments across Europe, Asia and Africa.

Previously, Benita served as EU Editor and Correspondent at Argus Media, where she reported extensively on EU energy, climate and financial regulation. She was also and a regular contributor to leading publications, including The Economist.

Earlier in her career, she worked with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), developing market analyses and business cases related to greenhouse gas emissions, energy conservation, biomass and carbon offsets across six Asian countries: China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Benita is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a regular participant in webinars focused on solar and renewable energy markets.

Benita has lived in Belgium, South Africa and Switzerland, and now calls France home, where she lives with her husband and their dog.
