Catalin Breaban

Catalin has been a focussed entrepreneur and investor in the renewable space for over a decade. He co-founded Aukera in 2021 as a European IPP and scaled it up across 4 countries and 11 GW of renewable energy and storage projects via organic and M&A/partnership growth. Germany is one of Aukera’s core markets, alongside UK, Italy and Romania. Before Aukera, Catalin was a Managing Director with The Carlyle Group, where he built the European renewables team and helped to raise capital for a dedicated investment vehicle. Prior to this partnership, Catalin was the CEO and founder of Bluemerang Capital Limited, a UK-based renewable platform and asset manager which he set up in 2012 and grew organically and through partnerships, building a $240 million business. Catalin holds an MBA degree from INSEAD. He is based in London, is married, and has two daughters.
