James Samworth
James Samworth is a Partner at Schroders Greencoat, a £9bn renewable infrastructure investor acquired by Schroders in 2022. James joined Schroders Greencoat in January 2019 and manages the Energy Transition division, which now manages £1.5bn of assets, ranging from biomass to renewable heat to green hydrogen. James also chairs the ESG committee at Schroders Greencoat. He has 16 years of investment experience, of which the last 15 years have been focused solely on renewables.
Prior to joining Greencoat, James co-led the waste and bioenergy investment team at Foresight Group. Prior to Foresight, James worked for 10 years in the steel industry for Corus and in banking and private equity with Deutsche Bank and Lyceum Capital.
James has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and an MBA from London Business School.
