
Meggie Eloy
Meggie is the Senior Technical Analyst in CBI’s Capacity Building and Technical Assistance team. Her role involves providing technical assistance to prospective labelled debt issuers through conducting portfolio reviews, entity readiness assessments, GSS+ training and capacity building. Meggie also supports clients wishing to create credible and ambitious transition plans through reviewing existing plans to ensure they are robust and are following best practice guidelines.
Prior to her role in the Capacity Building and Technical Assistance team, Meggie worked in CBI’s Certification team where she reviewed and processed all green bond applications to determine whether they would receive certification; a label which signals best practice by the issuer to the market. This involved screening bonds to determine whether the issuer’s internal processes were in accordance with the Climate Bonds Standard and if the underlying assets aligned to their related technical criteria. She has assisted in delivering over USD 300bn Use of Proceeds debt instruments that are consistent with the goal of limiting global warming to at or below 1.5°C future. Meggie has worked across a variety of sectors from Renewable Energy, Low Carbon Buildings, Low Carbon Transport and more recently, transition of the hard-to-abate sectors such as Steel, Cement, Hydrogen and Basic Chemicals.
Meggie’s educational background includes a MSc in Corporate Environmental Management from the University of Surrey, a BSc in Geography from the University of Leicester and a CFA Level 4 qualification in Climate and Investing.
