Olivia Abell

Olivia has experience advising developers and contractors in relation to large scale energy and infrastructure transactions, with a specific focus on the development and construction of renewable energy projects. At Power Capital, Olivia is responsible for overseeing the legal function, including property, finance, construction, development and operational workstreams. Olivia has successfully managed Power Capital’s two project finance transactions (to date) for projects supported by multinational corporate offtakers, one of which was the first solar portfolio financing in Ireland and the other of which boasted the first ever pre-pay structure in Ireland. Olivia is now in the process of navigating Power Capital’s third project financing for 9 projects each of which was successful in Ireland’s second renewable energy support scheme (RESS), which adopt an innovative, cost effective structure which will involve both a RESS PPA and a balancing services CfD. Her experience to date, and her understanding of the commercial drivers of each of the key parties involved in transactions of this nature (from developers, lenders, offtakers, contractors right through to landowners), make Olivia a technically astute yet pragmatic lawyer. Olivia is dual qualified in the jurisdictions of England & Wales and Ireland.
