Costas Caralis is Hive Energy’s Managing Director in Greece having bring into mature stage more than 600MW of projects for Hive, a strategic investment of 267MW Solar at R-T-B stage as well as the first emblematic investment of exceptional importance in Greece combining Solar, Storage and Green Hydrogen. It’s the first of its kind in Greece and Hive is planning to become a key player in the local Green Hydrogen market due favorable country location and conditions.
Costas has been in Solar industry since 2008 while before joining Hive Energy, he served as C-level executive focused on corporate Strategy and Companies growth plans in multinational corporations in Greece such as Societe General de Surveillance, Schuco International and Solarcentury, while currently holds the position of Managing Director in Hive Energy Hellas a subsidiary of Hive Energy in Greece and a board member of Grunkraft S.A. Costas holds a Master degree in Mineral Resources engineering and a Master in Business Administration.
538.4 MW of renewables capacity was awarded in the recent Greek tender and the country will continue to hold tenders throughout 2023. Whilst lower than the 1 GW of renewables targeted by the country’s regulator, RAE, the figure represents 372 MW of solar PV at an average price of Euros 47.98/MWh. This panel will investigate this tender, as well as upcoming auctions and the proposed Euros 340 million grid-scale storage plan which should represent 900 MW or storage capacity.
