Emi Takehara

Emi Takehara is the CFO of Grenergy, a Spanish listed renewable IPP. She joined the company in 2015 as Head of Structured Finance moving to the CFO role in 2022. She is now leading global finance teams in more than 10 countries spread across 3 platforms: Latin America, Europe and North America. Grenergy has currently 1.8GW of assets under operation and under construction. Its current pipeline stands at 14GW of solar and wind projects as well as 10GWh of storage globally. The company has also established itself as a leading ESG player in the renewables sector over the past 5 years as demonstrated by its top rankings from Sustainalytics, MSCI ESG and CDP, three of the most prestigious agencies in the world. Headquartered in Madrid, Spain, Grenergy employs over 400 people.

Emi has 15 years+ of experience in the finance industry. She started her professional career in London in Investment Banking at Dresdner Kleinwort in 2007 later moving to work at Société Générale Investment Bank in high yield debt capital markets. This was followed by a stint at Lloyds Banking Group where Emi served as a director. Her career evolved from Lloyds when she took on the role of social finance consultant at Prime Advocates which was followed by a spell in multilateral development finance at Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
